Pubs, hotels & areas are named after Crystal Palace! They are NOT named after the football club! They are named after THE Crystal Palace. An iron and glass structure, created specifically for the Great Exhibition of 1851 that took place in Hyde Park. There, inventors from all over the world showed their inventions and hoped to wow the world.

After the exhibition, the building was moved south of London and the area was renamed Crystal Palace.
